What if a game could actually help you invest your money? Bulls & Bears does exactly that!
If you have ever wondered what Monopoly on steroids would look like you’ll want to check out Bulls and Bears. This is a high-end, complex game that goes deeper than any stroll down Boardwalk ever could. Let’s start with the playing board which is bright and colorful. The instructions are easy to read and engaging, which goes a long way in making the idea of a finance game of this type a little less daunting. There are knowledge cards full of fascinating, real-world occurrences. This really got players thinking about historical events that they recall but now within the context of the game, like how it affected the stock market, etc. Based on these cards players “bet” money based on the level of confidence they have in their answers. Parents felt this game was firmly rooted in real world concepts, which requires both an understanding of history and skills for the future. With that said it is also competitive and fun, in order to win, you need health insurance, property insurance, a house and more, you know, adult stuff. These are valuable lessons which testers said seemed to stick with their kids who stayed focused and engaged.

PLAY
The game includes a game board, play money, investment sheets and various cards. Players start by receiving an investment sheet and a seed capital of $100,000. Game play continues with players moving around the board, landing on fields like Housing and Bank, and drawing from three decks of cards: News Flash, Knowledge and Wild.
The player who doubles her net worth and acquires a proper home, retirement plan, and insurance wins the game!
THINK
As in real life, players must invest in education to start a career, save the down-payment and get a mortgage to buy a house, start early to save for retirement, get proper insurance for their health and property, and so on.
All along game play, players are confronted with breaking news from the worlds of politics, economics, business, the law, and technology. They must figure out what each news event means and are given a chance to adjust their portfolios before it actually happens! They then learn the actual market response and reap the rewards or pay the price for their decisions.
LEARN
Bulls & Bears is a fun and challenging game that teaches the basics of finance and economics without requiring any prior knowledge.
Developed by a multi-disciplinary team including a retired Word Bank manager, an investment banker and gaming specialist, this fun and competitive board game will teach everything one must know about personal finance.
You will not believe how much fun you can have with finance!

You need to assess the impact of each event, and buy or sell assets accordingly; you then find out the real Market Response and earn or lose money. What do you do when “Congress imposes a carbon tax”, “Fed launches quantitative easing”, or “Japanese robot performs heart surgery?"
START HERE
As you throw the dice you get to move along the board. Game play continues with players grabbing their luck by the dice and drawing from three decks of cards, News Flash, Knowledge, and Wild.

INVESTMENT SHEET

Bulls and Bears was developed by a multi-disciplinary team from Germany, the U.S., and Israel. It is led by Dr. Mario Fischel, a former senior economist at the World Bank with over 25 years experience managing financial advisory programs across the world, and including Kerin Jacobs, a successful former investment banker and gaming specialist, Gal Narunsky, a talented graphic designer, Jacqueline Presser, an award-winning personal finance teacher and Sarah Sarfati Cohen, a MarComm expert.
